The dock a fascinating void, filled only with water; once the beating heart of the port, now silent and forgotten after the closure of Lisnave. That space, suspended in time, suggested a clear direction: not to build over it, but to work within and around it, respecting its presence and preserving its bond with water. From this came the idea of a cultural arts center for people: a space for meeting, sharing, and expression, transforming an inactive site into a place full of energy and creativity. An architecture that doesn’t impose itself, but grows from the dialogue between past and present. The project reuses both the dock and its lateral structures, enhancing without erasing. An open and accessible space, where people can express themselves freely, with a view onto a powerful natural landscape made of dunes, spontaneous vegetation, and water. A return to origins, but with new energy. An architecture that regene- rates, enhances, and brings life back to what once seemed forgotten.
