A candle holder is much more than just a candle support. It is a technical device,
consciously designed to hold candles, ensuring a controlled and safe combustion that
produces a beautiful effect.
When lit, it emits a soft warm light with a color temperature around 1800-2000K. The flame
can reach temperatures between 800-1400°C at its tip, emitting dynamic illumination and
casting shifting shadows that create an intimate and enveloping atmosphere.
Over time, its gradual use alters the surrounding space, making the passing of time clear
as the candle transforms into beautifully-melted amorphous wax.
ttarp. candle holders, are built of polished stainless steel, configuring an elegant and
durable object.Their substantial weight adds to their sense of quality, which becomes
apparent the moment they are held. The collection includes four different designs, each created to suit a variety of purposes, scales, and users. These types can also be
combined in diverse ways, allowing for multiple configurations that elevate their aesthetic
and functional value.
Its constructive logic is clear in its assembly process. The round base is connected to the
stainless steel via an M6 screw that, passing through the base, is screwed and joined to a
small piece inside the main tube, joining the different parts mechanically and defining the
candle holder as a single element. A small aluminium vase is located at the top of the main
tube to ensure the candle fits and lights both securely and beautifully on top of the candle
holder.
With an experimental approach, ttarp. was created by a young architect from Barcelona to rethink everyday objects with a focus on technical, functional, and aesthetic design. By
highlighting the physical and mechanical qualities of materials, ttarp. aims to make daily
atmospheres and routines more enjoyable.
