Vic, as a rural city, shares the duality of urban and rural leadership. The agricultural structure is part of the city’s urban structure, but this does not translate into a seamless transition from one to the other. On the outskirts of the city, this relationship becomes blurred, leading to vacant lots and abandoned buildings.
This is the case with the old industrial neighborhood of Caputxins, in the north of the city. L’Espatllat proposes a Performing Arts Laboratory that will create a new attraction point for the area, which is one of the main entrances to the city and the border point with its green belt. The project creates a new facade for the neighborhood and plays with the constructive tradition of the surroundings for the new facility.
