This project corresponds to a final individual work of the curriculum of Integrated Master in Architecture from University of Porto, a proposal for a new campus for ‘Ecole hôtelière de Lausanne – EHL’ in Switzerland with an innovative project management process in which the motto says: ‘A Campus for Students Designed by Students’.
The main idea of the project is creating a central space, an exterior space that creates a connection between the interior spaces and the chalet. The topography and the surrounding area of EHL influence the new proposal buildings. From the lower side there is the best view for the lake and the landscape, so the idea is create a line that have the alignment of the school building and that create a continuous facade influenced for the best view and for the fast movement of this road. This building is elevated from the floor so the ground floor is connected with the interior area. The superior area have small disperse have a lot of green area and have pedonal access and is quiet road, is a zone with small scale so the proposal is building composed by different parts with distinctive levels as the topography. The residential program is the one that requires more area so is the more massive and continuous building. The sport is here and the hotel is here near at the school.
